Which exchanges have price alerts?
Almost every big exchange has price alerts built in, and for one or two levels on an exchange you already use, they're the right tool. They differ more than you'd expect: in limits, in where the alert reaches you, and in whether it quietly expires. Here's what each one offers, from the exchanges' own documentation.
Native price alerts, exchange by exchange
| WHERE YOU SET IT | HOW IT REACHES YOU | LIMITS | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Binance | App and desktop | Binance app / desktop push | 10 per pair, 50 total, expire after 90 days |
| Coinbase | Mobile app | Coinbase app push | Not published |
| Kraken | Kraken Pro web, app, desktop | App push, browser pop-up with sound | Not published. Also volatility alerts on favorited markets |
| OKX | App and web (bell icon on the chart) | App and web notifications | Not published. Custom message per alert |
| Bybit | App (Alerts tab) | Bybit app push | Not published. Also trend and market-heat alerts |
What they all have in common
Every exchange alert reaches you through that exchange's own app, browser tab or desktop client. None of them sends to Telegram, Discord, Slack or email. Each only covers its own markets, and each needs a verified account. For a couple of levels on one exchange, that's fine. For a watchlist across exchanges, it isn't.
The one limit that bites: expiry
Binance is the only exchange here that documents a cap and an expiry, and both are tight: 10 alerts per pair, 50 in total, and each alert silently expires after 90 days. We wrote up the Binance limits and fixes separately. The others don't publish limits, which doesn't mean they have none.
When to use something else
A dedicated alert service makes sense once you want alerts somewhere other than an exchange app, across several exchanges, or without an exchange account. coinsentry covers 12,000+ pairs across 18 exchanges, with alerts that never expire, to Telegram, Discord, Slack, email or webhooks. All five ways to get a price alert, compared.
Same coin, different exchange, different price
An alert on Binance fires on Binance's price. The same coin on Kraken or OKX trades at a slightly different price at any given moment, and in fast markets the gap can be large enough to matter. That's a feature of exchange alerts, not a flaw: they tell you what's happening where you actually trade.

Fair questions, straight answers
Most large exchanges do: Binance, Coinbase, Kraken, OKX and Bybit all let you set price alerts in their apps, and several on the web too. They differ in limits, where the alert reaches you, and whether alerts expire.
Some do. Binance alerts expire after 90 days. Most exchanges don't publish an expiry or a cap, so check before relying on an alert set months ago.
Generally not. Exchange alerts arrive as that exchange's app push, browser notification or desktop alert. For Telegram, Discord, Slack, email or webhooks you need a separate alert service.
Not with exchange-native alerts: each exchange only alerts on its own markets, behind its own account. A dedicated alert service watches many exchanges from one watchlist.
For its native alerts, yes, a verified account. Dedicated alert services read public market prices, so no exchange account or API keys are needed.
